I was sat waiting to see a consultant in a plastic surgery practice in Berlin (beauty-pro.de). I noticed that they had aromatherapy candles in the waiting area of this practice. I found these to be most relaxing there were lots of relaxing scents. Surrounding me were windows, through the windows of this practice waiting area was a parnoramic view of Berlin.
Berlin is the capitol city of Germany, and there are a wide range of Hotel in Central Berlin (Berlin Mitte) options to choose from. It is also one of sixteen states. The aromatherapy candles were wafting out a beautiful lavender smell. It was an idilic place to be and although I was waiting for a consultation about my up and coming facelift. I had never felt as relaxed as I felt when I was waiting to be seen. There were lanterns full of water with little candles underneath heating the water, in the water they had placed the aromatherapy candles. Most of the people in that waiting had a look of relaxation on their face.
Some of them were admiring the view from this practice waiting area which was on the 14th floor of a very large building others were just enjoying being in the relaxing environment around them. I caught a lady having a discussion about the relaxing candles which were placed in the waiting area and how they were also used for reasons other than relaxation. Some candles are used when treating patients for symptoms of headaches or other such pain that they could be experiencing. Some hospitals use candles for pain relief or to alleviate fatigue. Lavender is also sometimes used in care homes for the elderly patients to send them into a deeper calmer sleep.
There are lots of different products on the market for babies with lavender in such as bubble bath and baby lotion. Some mothers buy there children teddy bears with lavender in which helps with a restful nights sleep. I could understand this as the aroma coming from the candles in the waiting area was really taking my mind off what I was about to discuss with the plastic surgeon. I was just hoping that he was going to have some of the candles on when I was finished with the surgery and that my room would have the same kind of view as I was experiencing from his waiting room. Such a blissful environment for the staff to be working in. Breathtaking views of Berlin and the smell of aromatic candles, with chilled out patients you could not wish for a better place to be. As the lady had said there are candles that are also used to alleviate pain I just hoped that this was the case and that there were going to be candles placed at my bedside after surgery (facelifts) to help with this.
As I was called through to the consultants office I notice that the smell had changed from Lavender to Ylang Ylang. I knew at this point that I was going to be experiencing a relaxing stay whilst after surgery too. I was shown one of the bedrooms where I would be staying after the operation and the view was second to non. The aromatherapy candles weren’t that bad either.
